Special Metals Class Action
Adkins et al v. Special Metals, et al.
United States District Court, Eastern District of Kentucky
Case No. 09-cv-00116-HRW
On December 31, 2009, Plaintiffs Robert Adkins, James Smith, and Chad S. Thompson filed suit on behalf of themselves and others in order to preserve the retiree health benefits of Special Metals retirees. In order to preserve retiree health benefits for the class, the Plaintiffs and Special Metals were able to reach a settlement. Pursuant to the settlement, Special Metals will pay money into a Benefits Trust that is expected to continue to provide retiree health benefits as they currently exist.
Plaintiffs filed a motion asking the Court to grant preliminary approval to the settlement, and the Court granted preliminary approval of the settlement. Now, you are being notified of your rights under the settlement.
