Sorrell practiced labor and employment law for more than 50 years, working tirelessly to represent the rights of individuals and union employees, including teamsters, police officers, firefighters, electrical workers, and many others. He started his career as a field attorney working for the National Labor Relations Board, Region 9, Cincinnati, and entered the private practice of labor law in Dayton in 1967, representing labor unions throughout the state of Ohio. Most recently, Sorrell was Of Counsel at Cook & Logothetis in Cincinnati. His dedication and passion for his work never ceased until the very end, and he mentored many young lawyers in the practice throughout the years. He was highly regarded among his peers and served in various leadership roles of the Labor and Employment Section of the American Bar Association, including Section Chair.

Sorrell's other passion was his family. His wife Margaret passed away on March 8th of this year, after more than 50 years of marriage. He was a loving father to his two children, Michael and Jennifer, and he absolutely adored his four grandchildren. He was his happiest when his family was around him. He was a loyal, life-long Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians fan, and he loved watching sports and reading his many papers and novels. He served in the Reserves, and was an avid tennis player in his younger years. He was also a much-loved youth soccer coach for several of his daughter's teams in Centerville. Sorrell was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Marie Logothetis, and his brother William.
